My areas of historical expertise include Chilean history, the Cold War, and U.S.-Latin American relations. Beyond academic scholarship, I’ve become involved in the digital humanities, I do occasional bits of baseball research, play guitar, and take the fermenting of sauerkraut and kimchi somewhat seriously.
I believe in the liberal arts mission. University is where students should develop critical thinking skills and sound preparation for a range of careers. Good education fosters civic engagement and serious meditation on how the gift of life should be lived.
